portland dress day #1

so yesterday i finally had some time to sit down and start on the dress for my portland trip. ray even helped make lunch and dessert, AND helped clean the kitchen so i could have more time to work in my office. sweet boy!!!!! so here is a super quick post about how the dress is going.

took pattern out of the package.
ok, so i actually took the pattern out about a week ago, and it's just been hanging out on the cutting table since then.

got my pattern pieces organized and the sewing box open and ready to get down to work.

this is the part i hate the most.
cutting out the pattern.

the dress it now all cut out and ready to go.

good progress for day #1.

now i have to put on the front facing and do the buttons, which i have NO IDEA how to do.
also gotta do the trim tape around the neck and arm holes, hem it, and i will be done.

the good thing is, if i get stuck on the buttons, mama can help me a little once i get to portland. and i need to find a good slip to wear since this fabric is really really thin.
