maisy moo lynn....hero at large

maisy getting ready to give blood.....
with the help of amanda, allison, and Dr. P.

with a lull in garden work, no photos of recent cooking (well except for the peach cobbler, which we’ll get to later), and a general overall feeling of slack on my part, not much has been going on around here. so, let’s discuss the awesomeness of maisy moo lynn. i mean really, mr. keebs had his day, so let’s us now praise the moooooster. today at work we had a dog come in that had been shot in the leg and in a nutshell needed to have an amputation. well, as it turns out his HCT (red blood cells) was to low to under go surgery. he needed a transfusion. so I ran home to grab moo moo and mr. keebs. now where mr. keebs is younger and probably big enough to give the amount we needed, there was no way he was going to sit still long enough to give blood. you should have seen the bruises he gave me when we tried to give him a kennel cough vaccine up the nose. maisy, however, is an angel at the vet and will sit still for pretty much anything. if i’m not mistaken we even removed a few warts off her mouth with just a bit of numbing spray. that’s right, my dog had mouth warts, what of it? i can’t help it that she’s a little slutty and got an STD of the mouth. she likes to sniff butts, leave her alone!!! anyway, she did great. she sat very still for about 10-15 minutes and bled like a champ. the best doggie blood giver of all times. and now hopefully the other dog’s body will except her blood wonderfully and will be able to have surgery on monday. i’ll keep you posted.

wait a minute!!!!
i didn't sign up for this!!!!!!!

p.s. and you know that was USDA certified organic blood. we’re talking high dollar shit.
