the devil made me do it.....

the bacon devil that is. oh, but he did not act alone. he had help. help from HER. i take no responsibility in the my actions of making bacon basil mayo. nope, not my fault. i was merely following the bacon devil's orders. he made me do it. and i love him for it.

genius, i say, genius. i read THIS POST and thought to myself, "do i have bacon?" why yes i do. holy mother i also have basil and bread. sweet jesus i also have some HPBL tomatoes that are in dire need of consumption. what i did not have was the mayo. no problem man, i got egg yolks, lemon juice, salt, mustard flour, olive oil, and some serious granny arm waddle that is in desperate need of a work out. 10 minutes later, we got mayo folks. what, you want a look inside that little heavenly slice of bacon evil? no problem.

while i was outside gathering basil, i decided i needed a some pretty inside and made me a an arrangement from the garden. plus some of my containers are getting a bit over grown and needed a little trim down.

not great, but sweet. so i made myself another pretty for the kitchen to give me something friendly to look at while i do the dishes.

next on the cooking list is salsa. i'm thinking of trying my hand at homemade tortillas again and making some white fish tacos this weekend. cause lord know i really need to do something with this......

p.s. i know, i know, lazy bloggers link to the recipes in lieu of retyping them. i'm such a link whore.

p.s.s. as i am writing this i am listening to world cafe on WNCW and hearing a new release from jenny and johnny and i must have it. i must. which reminds me that i also need to get the new one from she and him as well.

With all of those peppers and maters, you should make salsa!! Do the kind that you cook a bit and can so that you can enjoy your maters and peppers during the winter with some chili and cornbread!

Mmmm, bacon!
