ice, ice, baby!!
it's coming, it's coming.... the dreaded ice storm. let's first say that i am not freaking out. luckily we live in an area where i can walk to get anything i need, but let's face it, with highs below freezing and lows down near zero, the less i feel the need to leave the house, the better. so earlier today i walked up to the store to get a few supplies that i felt we were lacking (just in case the ice really does come and snaps a power line or two). now while anyone else might first think milk and bread, i thought this........
ok, so there is milk in there, i'll admit it. i need it for my morning muslix and coffee. and if the roads are so dicey that hubby gets stuck at the house, i'll need extra for when he jumps up and down in the hallway asking for coffee with "milky, milky, milky." there is also blue corn chips as requested by the hubby, matches (cause the kitchen range is gas, but i'm not sure if the pilot light thingy is electric), a camping light that comes with a small flashlight in case the lights go out (weird that we don't even have a flashlight), rechargeable batteries for the lantern, some feminine care items, toilet paper (you REALLY do need that and we only had one roll left), and of course, most importantly, in case the heat goes out and we are forced to stay curled up with the puppies under a huge pile of blankets.... whiskey!!!! and no joke, whiskey was the first thing out of hubby's mouth this morning when making the shopping list. it does warm the toes nicely. we also made a library run this weekend, so i'm set with some awesome reading material if needed, sweet!!
so come on mother nature, bring it!!!
