day 5 and we have shoots!!!! (and a weekly total)

would you look at that!! looks like the new soilless mixture is gonna work just fine. well, at least for the microgreens. i'm not seeing any action in the tomato or pepper seedling pots, but it is only day five. later today i'm gonna search for my thermometer to check the temperature of the soil to see if it is warm enough since we have cut the heat down over the last few days. but the radish shoots don't seem to mind the cool temps.  i moved them over to the front window to give them some lovely sunshine and just look at them, marvelous. i can't wait to eat them. speaking of which, they go nice, lightly dressed next to a grilled cheese sandwich like the one we had the other night. the bread, cheese, and shoots all came from this week's csa.

and now here's the breakdown for this weeks totals.
i am happy to say that, finally, i came in under budget.

maude's market csa: $30

4 potatoes
3 beets
sunflower shoots
2 kinds of cheese
1 lb. ground bison meat
2 butternut squashes
giant loaf of white bread
1 lb. butter $7.50 extra
(i know that may seem like a lot for butter, but, let me tell you,
it's really really really really really really really good butter)

dierburgs: $4.00
org. plain yogurt

miscellaneous: $8.00
gallon of raw milk

that comes to about $50 for the week.
i now declare that the project bank debt is paid off!!!

p.s. did you notice that you didn't see the name wholefoods anywhere in this weeks totals!!!!!
