tuesday - well i was going to write a nice little post about my wonderful baked chicken breast with homemade peach salsa and rosemary potatoes, but IT'S NOT DONE YET. that bird has been baking forever. well...not forever...but awhile. longer than i remember what the recipe said. i think the problem is i'm cooking a skin on, bone in, chicken breast. needs more time. so we went ahead and ate the veggies. onions, zuchinni, and tomatoes sauted in butter, olive oil, and garlic, with a little bitty pepper i had sitting in the frig. i would have taken a picture, but i was so hungry, we ate them right away. well the chicken is now done, but i'm full from the veggies. oh yeah, and the snack of chips, peach salsa, and sour cream that i ate while cooking. guess i know what i'm having for lunch tomorrow. chicken will be a nice break from the egg salad sandwhiches that i have recently become addicted to. no need to worry about my cholesterol though, i make my egg salad with local free range eggs, salt, pepper, mustard, and whole plain yogurt. yes that's right children, yogurt. yum yum. we don't have mayo in the house, so i just use yogurt. i use yogurt in my chicken salad as well. it's good, really. and i think last year when i had bloodwork done my cholestrol was 90 or something like that.
well since i can't tell you how tasty my chicken is, let talk cookies. ahhh, cookies. cookies....good!!!
the other day i cooked up the rest of the figs i had into a nice little figgy goo that i ate a couple of time on toast with cream cheese. 1 had some goo left over so i decided to make figgy cookies. sunday night i made cream cheese sugar cookie dough with whole wheat pastry flour. let it sit in the frig, and finished the cookies last night.
yummy figgy cookiesi wanted to try to make a lemon berry roulade, but now berry season is over. so for the holiday weekend i might try a goat cheese cheesecake.
not much else going on here. last night maisy kept ray up scratching, but i slept just fine. now as she lays under my desk, she is not licking or scratching. she just does it in the middle of the night. i need to give her and cleveland a bath this weekend, and wash and clean all there bedding and couch. i checked her head to foot this morning, no rash, no red skin, no scabs, no fleas, nothing. maybe she is having an allergy issues or something. i see benadryl in her near future this evening.
well here is some quick pics of the pups for you to enjoy.

what's up mr. keebs!?! check it out....over on top of the bookcase to the left in the white shadowbox frame. that's the onezy i came home from the hospital in. i was supposed to come home in the same dress sis did, but my neck was to fat. (hey mom, if that is not how the story goes, i don't want to know. i like that story, and i'm sticking to it)
i love you maisy. why are you so far away? come sit over here with me and the mommy.
give mommy a kiss. really, my dog does love me. i know so far in every pic of me and him, he looks like he is trying to escape and get far far away from me. but he loves me, really, he does. he loves me.

Yes you are correct. You came into this world looking like a Green Bay Packer. We call you no neck Jones. You were round and chubby with no neck that we could see. Happy jolly baby. No you could not wear your sis's dress. It would not even go over you head. And no way were the little shoe she had ever going on your feet. I had brought the dress to the hospital but had to call your Dad to bring me something bigger. You were too cute. Your Mom
