my slashes in the bread really don't accomplish much, but they smell really good.
if i keep this bread making thing up, i will venture out and get more gadgets and perhaps a baking stone and mail order some groovy yeasts and flours. or who knows, maybe i'll just keep it simple. perhaps harvest my own yeast, or better yet, a sourdough starter!!!

i also spent sometime in the office toady organizing some old negative into the binders that i recently ordered.
well i was hoping to have some super pics of a really super supper. but...no. by the time the bread was done and ray got home, i was just to tired to do any more work in the kitchen. i was thinking we would feast on grilled cheese sandwiches and some tomato soup we got from the farmers market. but ray didn't feel all that well (he really really needs a vacation) and i was feeling lazy, so we had pb&j sandwiches on the new bread. ray had hot tea to drink and i had a glass of raw milk. but i did feel like doing some more scanning. i really need to watch the tom foolery with all the color correction tools. here's what i was playing with. now i must go because i am getting tired of staring at the computer and the debates will be starting soon.

We watched that Good Eats! I don't know about the water, but did you try the flower pot trick? That has to be a good thing.
I'm making Irish Soda bread for dinner - from the Cooks Illustrated cookbook. It's the only bread I'm not scared to try. Let me know when you do sourdough started. We can do it at the same time and see if our wild yeasts are the same. : )
