CHUCK WAGONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even with the time change and day light hours getting longer, there STILL does not seem like enough hours in the day to get things done. picture taking, gardening, jogging, working, cleaning, cooking, sewing, antiquing, eating cookies, visiting dairies, blogging, and well of course the all important weekend napping, there just isn't enough time. somehow i am going to have to combine some of my activities. but, until i become the goddess of domestic efficiency, i give you the chuck wagon cook off that nicki and i went to in february. in a word, it was awesome. the chuck wagons were super cool, the weather was good, the drive up was picturesque, going through gatlinburg made me laugh and want to go back to ride the very scary looking chair lifts, and the food was GOOD. there was about 8 wagons in all, and after paying my five bucks and walking around for a bit, you were to pick a wagon to eat from for lunch. i picked this chick would really looked like she knew what she was doing with the chicken fried steak. boy did she ever. and not only that, i have definitely decided that if ray and i ever get around to getting married, i am SOOO having a chuck wagon cater the wedding. oh don't think i didn't get my girl's businesses card.

chuck wagon!!!!!!

hitch a ride boys!!!

look at that!!!! it rocks!!!!

so fun.

here's my girl cookin it up.

she so knows what she is doing.

the ultimate outdoor kitchen.

holy crap.... i have trouble keeping up when i got three burners on the stove going.
this most definitely takes practice and serious timing.

lunch is on.
i didn't eat from this wagon.... luckily.
nicki said the food was good, but they skimped her on the peach cobbler.
apparently they doled out the food for you, but......

over at my girl's wagon it was serve yourself.
yummy!!!!!
although the peach cobbler crust could have been more crispy on top, every thing on my plate was tasty. it's hard to tell from the picture, mainly because i had already eaten some before i remembered to take a picture, but here we have chicken fried steak w/ gravy, mashed potatoes, fried corn cakes, biscuit, red beans, and peach cobbler.
