granny keeps her cake on the screened in porch.
well folks there's not to much going on around here these days other than my new cookie addiction forcing me to hit the ymca. man oh man, i made these homemade molasses snap cookies, soooo good, but then proceeded to devour them before i could take a picture. oops. maybe next time. i'll probably make a bunch of the these awesome raisin rosemary cookies this weekend just so i can stop thinking about them. but until then, i'll tell you about a few things i added to this here blog. first, i added a link to my photography blog that i so desperately need to work on. and second, i added a little "blog of the month" section to the scroll down goodies on the right side of the page. this month's honor goes to ghost town farm. i found this blog while checking out a few things on youtube. apparently she also has a book, farm city, which i must see if they have at the library. and if not, i guess i will have to use my "online store" gift card i got with my saved up change i cashed in at one of those grocery store machines to buy a copy. i also picked up a copy of a new magazine from the folks at hobby farm called urban farm. me like. i'm also so excited to start the garden again this year. once we get a few clear, sunny, and non "freeze your ass off" kinda of days, i'll go and clear out the dead fall garden. but until then, on the to do list is a small inside herb garden for the kitchen. oh yeah, and we also need to take the pecans we picked at my granny's house over christmas to the farmer's market so they can crack them for me. which is good and bad. good cause i love pecans, but bad cause it takes me weeks to separate all the nuts from the shells. but, it must be done. and after watching all the news coverage of the folks in haiti, if separating pecans from the shells is the worse thing i gotta do, well then i'm seriously darn lucky. my deepest sympathies for those effected by such a terrible tragedy. and on a different note, hey you mr o'brian and all you other late night hosts, stop your moaning. i don't care what show you host or when your time slot is. there are bigger fish to fry and more important things to talk about. so shut up!
ray (sweetie pie) picking pecans at granny's house. me like.
